finally, a new post. so i turned 24 (EERPS) exactly 3 weeks ago. my quarter life crisis doesn't start for another whole year right? hmmm, could have fooled me.

as per tradition, my nyai and i had our birthday celebration together on the saturday before our birthdays (she turned 67 on the 5th) and i made this lickworthy cake. thats how i judge cakes, if i don't want to lick the frosting then i don't want to eat the cake (which is why fondant doesn't really work for me). anyhow, my mom and i got the candles at phoon huat, they were like 50cents each but we mostly got them because of fate! get this, they had a rack full of the numbers candles right, and in a row the numbers read 2 4 6 7. ain't destiny neat?

the day after that, i woke up and immediately guessed something was up. i was supposed to go shopping with my mom but she was acting weirdly suspicious so i decided to continue to lepak in my room cos i figured maybe whatever it was she was planning it would be later in the day so i brushed my teeth, washed my face and brought a plate of food into my room and proceeded to watch Better Off Ted. halfway through the show, i heard a loud click as my locked room door opened, and i saw this

se-plies! my most favourite cake in the world, a humble chocolate gateau from bengawan solo. and all this happened while i was unshowered, in my baju butterfly! if they weren't my family members i might have to kill them.

the saturday after my birthday, i went out with my cousins

and then the saturday after that, i went out with the usual gang of bandits and we rocked the house! or room actually, it was a cozy space but we made the most of it by singing 90s pop tunes and/or embarrasing r&b songs.

so much fun! and the dinner we had aftwerwards was really, really good.

still on the subject of food (when is it not?) i made this banana loaf a while ago

it's banana loaf on crack, is what it is. imagine the most awesomely moist banana bread topped with crunchy, sweet crumb topping that, erm, crumbles and end up everywhere but you don't really care because goddamn that's some good banana bread.

new things in life; this earphone wire roller thingamajig

i get super frustrated with the wires of my earphones (i spend like 2 minutes just untangling them, that's 2 minutes of my life having to listen to other people around me being annoying) and when i saw this on fredflare a while back i was like "zomg must have" but i have no patience for shipping and the likes so i forgot all about it and succumbed to my fate as a grumpy wire untangler. and then my mom bought this for me because "you like cameras" and that is why she is amazing.

the pendant's too cute to be true but the chain is at an awkward length (i do not need more attention to my boobs thankyouverymuch) but whatever, it only costs 5$ so logic fails. plus it totally gives off a rockwell vibe doesn't it? let's end this post with this classic one hit wonder
