it's been a while.

i would first like to get this declaration out of the way

i haven't had any coffee in 13 days.

look at that gravy. look at it. that is the mona lisa of gravy.
the chicken chop's great, their mashed potatoes and garlic bread and fries are really good too. i'm just hoping they don't lose all this awesome-ness once they go the way of a lot of mainstream halal joints (yes charcos i am looking at you)

the other day kak ameen and nabillah came over to my place and they forced me
to bake something. i forced them to do the dishes.

we made molten lava cake! ugliest thing ever but tastes pretty good for something we randomly cooked up in half an hour. vanilla ice-cream on the side; essential.
this cake is so chocolatey it will reside in your throat if eaten as-is.

i love love love the cheesecake sticks & coronets (the closest thing we have to cannoli!) at beard papa's so i tried to jazz things up by ordering this tiramisu thing.

looks awesome, tastes...oookay. i was really turned off by the cocoa powder topping,
so bitter! but nabillah thought it was good which says a lot since she is very selective about her dairy intake. and look at the pretty, pretty bokeh caused by her studded bag! neat-o.

in food related news, i've been making a chunk of change from my hobby of choice.

obviously i'm not gonna go around buying up real estate with the money i make
but it allows me to buy food and books and random junk.

mmmmm new books.

$5 each! and in really good condition too, i got these at a tiny used book sale at e-hub. my mom accidentally brought me there and regretted it (people know not to let me within 2 meters of any bookstores or face the wrath of the nerd within). there were so many copies of book i already have and paid full price for...grrrr.

nabillah turned 20 last sunday!

and then had a seizure the day after...roaries twenties dude! i wonder who else has a father and a best friend who suffers from epilepsy? i am special, only because you guys are. anyhow, kak ameen, balqis and i decided to surprise her very very late that night even though she was dumb enough to be stuck in batam for her entire birthday. i made a cake! let's call it a doraemon cake because the penguin literally won't shut up about having a doraemon cake for her birthday and since i don't work well with buttercream i just used a rocking chocolate sour cream frosting and stuck a bunch of doraemon toppers, that i diy-ed a few hours before, on top of it. we then had a slumber party during which they all slept and i stayed up and watched Bram Stoker's Dracula.

ok i shall end this entry now, next post will be the all-important birthday wishlist!
